Hilary Meredith Solicitors, who specialise in serious personal injury claims and also handle compensation claims for military personnel who have been injured, presented a cheque of £6,000 to the Legion’s War Pensions and Compensations service and Independent Inquest Service on Tuesday 14 May.
The money was raised at the Hilary Meredith Golf Classic 2013 event arranged in association with Silk 106.9FM, at De Vere, Mottram Hall, Cheshire.
Hilary Meredith of Hilary Meredith Solicitors presented the cheques to Cecilia Miskelly, Manager of the War Pensions and Compensations section, and Kevin Hart, Solicitor, for the Legion’s Independent Inquest Advice.
The annual golf event organised by the solicitors firm was hosted by Mark Lawrenson (former professional footballer) and involved local businesses, represented by teams of four, competing against each other for the prestigious Golf Classic trophy and to raise money for the Legion.
Fifteen teams took part in the tournament, with MPH Ringers securing first place, closely followed by runners up Edge International and Bristol Street Motors, with other teams including Macclesfield rugby team as well as other celebrity footballers.
In the evening there was a charity auction, again hosted by Mark Lawrenson, also in aid of the Legion.
Cecilia Miskelly and Julie Dove, Community Fundraiser for Cheshire, attended the event on behalf of the Legion and gave presentations on our work both in the north-west of England and nationally.
Hilary Meredith Solicitors have a long association with the Legion and continue to support us. They said: “We are proud of our links with the Legion.”
