Sunday marked the closing of the incredible Invictus Games held in London, which recognised the fantastic sporting achievements and courage of wounded ex-service men and women. Throughout the 4 days of competition, wounded service men and women represented 13 nations in a variety of different sporting events which was truly inspiring to watch. For many of those competing, just getting to the starting line was an amazing feat – I really hope these games raise awareness and respect for those wounded in service, and who have overcome great physical and emotional hurdles.
The Invictus Games was great recognition for what can be achieved post-injury with true determination and will power – I hope everyone who participated feels very proud of themselves!
