Clare studied law at Sheffield University where she also completed the Legal Practice Course. She then went on to train and qualify as a Solicitor at a large Manchester city centre practice specialising in personal injury .
Clare joined Hilary Meredith Solicitors in 2007 where she was promoted to Partner in 2010. She now works exclusively for claimants specialising in serious injury cases, including traumatic brain injury and spinal injury cases, for both adults and children. She has successfully won millions of pounds in compensation for her clients with the largest settlement to date being in excess of £5million.
She has considerable experience in a range of personal injury claims including road traffic accidents, accidents at work, fatal accidents, public liability and criminal injuries .
Clare has particular expertise in dealing with claims against the Ministry of Defence and heads the firm’s military team. She acts in cases arising from accidents whilst deployed, during training and peace keeping operations; claims under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and Criminal Injuries Compensation (Overseas) Scheme including appeals under both schemes.
She also represents families at inquests to help them establish the facts surrounding the loss of their loved one and has acted in many high profile military and non-military inquests.
In 2011 Clare’s department won Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence Team of the Year and were Finalists in Pro Bono Team of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards 2011.
Clare has been highlighted as “impressing” by the Legal 500 2013.
