Brian Wood MC extends ambassadorial role with Hilary Meredith Solicitors

War hero and best-selling author Brian Wood has extended his role as an Ambassador for Hilary Meredith Solicitors.
At the age of 23, Brian Wood was thrust into the front line in Iraq, in the infamous Battle of Danny Boy. Ambushed, he led a charge across open ground with insurgents firing at just five soldiers. On his return, he was awarded the Military Cross.
In his best-selling memoir, Double Crossed: A Code of Honour, A Complete Betrayal, Brian speaks powerfully and movingly about the three battles in his life, from being ambushed with no cover, to the mental battle to adjust at home, to being falsely accused of hideous war crimes. Brian’s story was also the subject of a BBC drama, Danny Boy.
Brian has acted as an Ambassador for Hilary Meredith Solicitors since 2019. Commenting on his work with the firm, founder and Chair Hilary Meredith-Beckham said:
“It is an honour to continue working with Brian. During his 16-year military career, he led British troops across the full spectrum of battle from training to fighting; from operations in the Balkans to high intensity combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Brian is a truly inspirational man and we have a shared passion to support service personnel, veterans and their families.”
Said Brian Wood:
“I’m delighted to continue my work with Hilary Meredith Solicitors as an Ambassador.
“The firm is well known in the military community for its support of service personnel and veterans and Hilary is a true legal champion for the armed forces.”
Hilary Meredith Solicitors has a long-standing track record acting for service personal, veterans and their families.
Amongst numerous high-profile actions, the firm is currently acting for serving army personnel and veterans who were prescribed controversial anti-malaria drug Lariam and suffered mental health issues and neuropsychiatric side-effects as a result.
Hilary Meredith-Beckham is also currently taking legal action against the MoD to obtain justice for service personnel and veterans who were falsely accused and investigated by the Iraq Historic Allegations Team (IHAT).
In other military matters, Hilary is calling for a Public Inquiry into Gulf War Syndrome. With new evidence emerging, including previously restricted documents, Hilary is looking at bringing a potential class action against the MoD on behalf of veterans who served in the 1991 Gulf War and went on to suffer a range of debilitating symptoms.
