1. Job description: Litigation Assistant 4+ Years’ experience

ROLE

We are currently recruiting for a Litigation Assistant to assist a Director and Solicitor with a large caseload of multi-track Personal Injury cases. The role will be to work under supervision and in line with current company policies and legal requirements. To accept delegated tasks as directed.

Applications are welcome from candidates with 4+ years’ experience working within the Personal Injury arena, preferably with significant multi-track experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessing new enquires
  • Providing a high standard of client care
  • Ensuring cases are progressed in a timely, efficient and in a proactive manner.
  • Drafting Letters of Claim, Letters of Instruction, Witness Statements, Instructions to Counsel
  • Reviewing and summarising medical and personnel records
  • Dealing with correspondence and telephone enquiries
  • Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel requirements.
  • Managing a Proclaim task list in a timely manner
  • Accurate time recording.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate, preferably with Law related degree and / or professional qualification such as LPC
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills and time management skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Excellent client care skills to include a good telephone manner
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Experience in legal drafting is preferable but not necessary
  • Experience in using Proclaim is preferable but not necessary

2. Job description: Assistant Solicitor – Clinical Negligence

ROLE:

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Solicitor circa 5 years PQE to assist the Partner in charge with a large caseload of multi-track clinical negligence cases.

You will have a strong desire to work in this area of law and experience in handling clinical negligence cases to trial/settlement.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring cases are progressed in a timely, efficient and proactive manner.
  • Liaising with clients, experts, barristers, third party solicitors as necessary.
  • Dealing with all aspects of pre and post issue procedures in a timely and cost effective manner. Pursuing cases to conclusion.
  • Ensuring all actions as per Proclaim Action List are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Reviewing and summarising medical and personnel records
  • Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel requirements.
  • Managing a Proclaim task list in a timely manner
  • Accurate time recording.
  • Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
  • Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • We envisages the successful candidate to have experience dealing with a broad range of matters.
  • You should be able to handle a caseload autonomously and be confident undertaking advocacy.
  • Clear understanding and application of the Law and Protocols
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent client care skills to include a good telephone manner
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to form and execute case planning and strategies
  • Keen analytical skills
  • Good organisational skills and able to effectively prioritise

  • Experience in using Proclaim is preferable but not necessary
  • Experience in supervision
  • Desire to work in a small team environment with a senior solicitors and others
  • Desire to contribute to the growth and development of a dynamic team
