An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an award winning Wilmslow based claimant solicitor’s practice with a national and international client base.

A Legal Assistant is required to assist the Senior Director on a variety of high profile matters.

12+ months experience in Personal Injury work is essential.

You should be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, excellent organisational skills, drafting skills and have a real desire to provide first class client care. You must be able to work effectively under pressure, be able to manage completing priorities, work within deadlines and produce work of a high standard.

Primary responsibilities include;

• Prioritising casework and tasks
• Meeting deadlines
• Ensuring timely and efficient progression of matters
• Diary management
• Drafting correspondence, court documents, statements and instructions to Experts/Counsel
• Collating medical records
• Preparing bundles for Court, RTM’s etc.
• Liaising with Clients, Experts and Counsel
• Fixing and attending client meetings and Conferences
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Conducting legal research

Familiarity with Proclaim or a similar case management system would be an advantage.

Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor to work with a Partner with a large caseload of multi-track Clinical Negligence cases. The role will be to work under supervision and in line with current company policies and legal requirements.

Applications are welcome from candidates with either claimant or defendant clinical negligence experience.

You will have a strong desire to work in this area of law and at least 5-10 years experience in handling or assisting with Clinical Negligence Personal Injury cases.
Salary dependent upon level of experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing a high standard of client care
• Ensure cases are progressed in a timely, efficient and in a proactive manner.
• Drafting Letters of Claim, Letters of Instruction and Witness Statements
• Assisting with Court deadlines and where necessary drafting Applications
• Liaising with Counsel and drafting Briefs to Counsel
• Reviewing and summarising medical and personnel records
• Dealing with correspondence and telephone enquiries
• Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel requirements.
• Managing a Proclaim task list in a timely manner
• Accurate time recording.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate, preferably with Law related degree and professional qualification such as LPC
• Attention to detail
• Good organisational skills and time management skills
• Excellent people skills
• Excellent client care skills to include a good telephone manner
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
• Experience in using Proclaim is preferable but not necessary
