I was interested to read the comments by Lord Hurd of Westwell who has hit out at delays in publishing the official report into the Iraq war – warning it was becoming a scandal.
According to Forces TV, the Tory peer said publication of the long-delayed Chilcot inquiry report had “dragged on” beyond “forgivable delay” and urged ministers to ensure people were given the truth.
I agree with Lord Hurd’s comments entirely.
Combat operations in Iraq ended over 5 years ago – why then has it taken so long for this report to be published?
These delays only breed concern and suspicion as to the reasons why we entered the country and what we actually achieved considering the lives lost and life changing injuries as a result.
