A criminal investigation into the Grenfell Tower tragedy is looking into manslaughter charges, it has emerged.
Sir Keir Starmer, the shadow Brexit secretary, who is the former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), revealed prosecutors were currently part of the investigation. He said they would be looking at whether anyone could be charged with manslaughter.
There is so much to investigate here. It appears residents’ concerns have been ignored over a number of years and there has been a catalogue of neglect.
There are undoubtedly potential regulatory offices but manslaughter is the most serious matter and the criminal investigation must now take precedence.
