Great Britain’s Jamie Burdekin is delighted to announce his renewed key sponsor partnership with Wilmslow based law firm, Hilary Meredith Solicitors.
The partnership which has run since before London 2012 sees a new partnership deal signed ahead of Rio 2016. Since London 2012, the partnership has seen Jamie win several world titles across the past 4 years, including the World Team Cup (The same as the Davis Cup), in wheelchair tennis.
Ahead of what is set to be the biggest Paralympics to date, Hilary Meredith Solicitors were keen to continue their support, which will see Jamie feature in men’s singles and doubles in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil next year, in a push for gold at the games.
Hilary Meredith commented “We are so happy to be supporting Jamie again. We’ve got a fantastic relationship with him here and with the Rio Paralympics just around the corner, we’re all behind him in his ambition to achieve a medal there. He’s been a great brand ambassador for us and we are sure he’ll make everyone proud”
Jamie, a former Royal Marine, suffered life changing injuries after a car accident in 2000, which saw him paralysed from the neck down. Through rehabilitation and the care he received at Southport Spinal Injuries centre, he regained some mobility. He then went on to become involved in quad (wheelchair) tennis and through his love of sport, became a force to be reckoned with on the tennis circuit, winning bronze in the Beijing Paralympics and going on to win major world titles over the years with a current world ranking of number 5.
Jamie said “I’m really pleased Hilary has helped me again in supporting my career, especially ahead of what potentially could be my last Paralympic year. I’m going to be going out there, extremely confident in what I can do. Being world ranked at number 5 right now, I’m looking to push on in the rankings to achieve a top 4 seed before 2016. The support, all of my sponsors provide is second to none, which has meant I can concentrate on the court and not have to worry about what is happening in the background. To have Hilary’s backing with Hilary Meredith Solicitors on board again, only pushes what I can do and I’ll be doing everything I can to add that gold medal to my wins and hopefully give something back to them for how they’ve helped me.”
