Hilary Meredith Solicitors is taking legal action against the MoD to obtain justice for service personnel and veterans who were falsely accused and investigated by the Iraq Historic Allegations Team (IHAT).

17 years on from the invasion of Iraq, British soldiers accused of committing war crimes have finally been told that they will not face criminal prosecution.

In one of the most shameful episodes in modern legal history, thousands of British soldiers who served in Iraq from 2003 to 2009 were falsely accused of brutality and abuses against civilians.  Over 4000 claims were made against our armed forces – many of which were fraudulent.

While this saga is approaching its welcome end, a terrible price has been paid by the accused: shattered families, broken marriages, ruined finances, stalled careers, poor mental and physical health.

Hilary Meredith Solicitors is now bringing a legal action on behalf of service personnel and veterans against the Ministry of Defence.

We now know that this whole exercise was built upon deceit. The vast majority of evidence against our troops was fraudulent while the solicitor paid from the public purse to bring so many of the false claims has been struck off by a professional tribunal on multiple misconduct charges, including dishonesty and lack of integrity.

The MoD has breached the duty of care it owes to service personnel and veterans.

If you were under false investigation by IHAT or pressured into giving evidence as a witness and you feel your health and quality of life has suffered as a result then join our action.
