Military Veterans and their Families wellbeing symposium

I spent yesterday at the University of Chester’s beautiful riverside campus as the guest speaker at the Military Veterans and their Families wellbeing symposium hosted by the Westminster Centre for Research and Innovation in Veterans’ Wellbeing.

This was the first symposium and it was well supported by a large audience including the Deans of the University, Chester MP Chris Matheson and the High Sheriff.

Speakers included Rod Eldridge (Walking with the Wounded), Brigadier Professor Robin Simpson, Professor Alan Finnegan, Andy Bacon (NHS England) and Dr Peter Carter (Independent Healthcare Consultant).

It was also amazing to see what is being done at grass roots level through sport and to hear from Neil Kelly from the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and Dave Kelly form Everton in the Community.
