Saddened by soldier’s death

I was saddened to read about the death of Emma Beeney, a serving soldier on leave, who was hit by a generator falling from the back of a lorry.

How can this be allowed to happen?
It rings horrible similarities to a case I was involved in a few years ago when metal sheeting on the back of a lorry came loose causing serious injuries to a young soldier out on an early morning run. The injuries were life changing causing brain damage.

The irony of this case was that the driver and warehouse were the sheeting was stacked for transport were never prosecuted by police or health and safety and just carried on with their lives as if nothing had happened whilst my client suffered for life as a result of their negligence.
