I pay tribute to the bravery of our Armed Forces every day of the year, but today, on Armed Forces Day 2020, I’d particularly like to salute all our service personnel, veterans and their families.
Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much-valued morale boost for our troops and their families.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus outbreak, this year’s Armed Forces Day National Event hosted by Scarborough Borough Council has been cancelled.
However, there are still a number of ways to show your support.
#SaluteOurForces is a simple way for anyone to pay tribute to the British Armed Forces community for their hard work, dedication and efforts to and keep us safe in the UK and across the globe.
If you personally know someone in the Armed Forces, you could also send them a message or give them a call to thank them for helping to keep the UK safe.
Throughout the day, the Armed Forces Day Facebook and Twitter channels will be showcasing everything from a Red Arrows flypast, behind the scenes tours of military kit, a unique chance to learn more about life aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, musical performances and more.
Take time today to #SaluteOurForces
