I attended the Poppy Ball garden party last night held at Garrard, the royal jewellers in aid of the Royal British Legion.
We were given a wonderful talk on the founding of the jewelers. This was in 1735 when they received a commission from the then Prince of Wales and today it still remains the oldest jewellers in existence in the world .
They also talked about how they designed the royal crowns, including the royal scepter which holds the largest diamond in the world.
I had a lot of fun trying on pieces of jewellery, particularly an emerald and diamond ring worth £119,000 and a pearl and diamond drop necklace worth £290,000. There was also a beautiful diamond necklace worn by Cheryl Cole on X Factor on display.
It was a wonderful evening!
To help raise money and support for the Royal British Legion please buy one of the golden tickets for £20 for the chance to win the top prize a diamond ring from Garrard.
